Here’s a chance for motorsport fans to be in the heart of the action at the 2025 edition of Chicago’s NASCAR race weekend!
Join us on a high-octane, 26 day tour that kicks off at full bore; you’re straight down trackside and into prime ‘reserved’ seating at this 12-turn, 3.6 kilometre street circuit.
Feel the slipstream as these V8 monsters kick up a storm in the Windy City!
That the course includes a section of fabled Route 66 is appropriate, because when the racing and the partying is done, you’ll be heading across America’s ‘Mother Road’ for an amazing, 21 day road-trip to Los Angeles via the Grand Canyon, along with THREE great nights in Fabulous Las Vegas!
This fantastic tour commences on July 2nd upon check-in at your Chicago Hotel.
Enjoy some free days exploring Chicago, along with the opportunity to be part of the July 4th / Independence Day celebrations throughout the city!
Saturday and Sunday is all about the Racing! TWO brilliant days in outstanding reserved seats provide effortless viewing of both days of racing.
Once the weekend of NASCAR racing is over – you’ll collect your rental car and set off for Los Angeles – via historic Route 66, enjoying 21 nights across heartland America!
2025 NASCAR & Route 66 Itinerary:
July 2:
Depart for / Arrive into Chicago, arriving mid-evening. Check into the hotel – right in the heart of downtown, and so very close to the racing action!
July 3:
We start with a Pre-Tour meeting – then it’s a free day to relax and enjoy all that Chicago has to offer.
July 4:
Experience Independance Day in the USA! Enjoy all that Chicago has to offer on a national holiday!
July 5 & 6:
NASCAR racing on the streets of Chicago!
July 7:
You’ll be collected at 8am for the short trip to collect your rental car. Gilligans supplies you with everything you need – comprehensive Route Book and ‘Turn by Turn navigation’ via a supplied iPhone & our exclusive APP.
July 8 – July 26:
Continue your trip West on Route 66! Averaging just 145 miles of driving a day, you’ll make your way over some of the earliest alignments of Route 66, and you will stop and see the very best that this old highway has to offer!
July 27:
Arrive at the end of your American Route 66 odyssey at the Santa Monica pier! Depart LAX in the early evening for your return journey home.

TOUR FORMAT:
Each day usually starts around 8:30am and concludes about 4:30pm.
Your days are pretty full, there is little to plan, but so, so much to stop and experience!
Gilligans’ ‘Self-Drive Tour’ of Route 66 allows guests to stop and enjoy the towns, places and iconic points of interest that are of interest to you – without a large group tour, but with the security of a detailed daily itinerary and turn-by-turn navigation.
